Founded in 2007, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, CEC's initial service lines included outplacement support to downsized employees; facilitating strategic planning and succession; organisational design for start-ups and small businesses; and project management.

Rhonda Gustavson, founder and principal consultant, is a successful management consultant, facilitator, certified executive and career coach, and serial entrepreneur. Rhonda offers a unique toolkit combining close to twenty years of professional experience in corporate and not-for-profit finance, operational, and human resource management with intuition, insight and exceptional communication skills. She is widely recognised and sought after for her unflinching candour and focus on tangible outcomes. She works primarily with corporations, executives and professionals in areas of  human resource management and development, organisational planning, leadership development, communications, team effectiveness, and career management.
